The Chronicle Peak 2 Park 2011 Charity Fun run/walk

Peak 2 Park 2011, a fun walk/run event, will occur come rain, hail or shine in Toowoomba this Sunday 6 March.

Now in its sixth year, the event is designed to provide an enjoyable way for Toowoomba and districts adults and children to become more active and also to raise funds for local charities.

Organisers have been thrilled with the support of the public for Peak 2 Park in previous years and are expecting over 2000 entrants to complete either the 4km walk or 10km run this year.

The run commences at 7am (10km) and the walk begins at 7:30am (4km).  Both events start at Picnic Point and follow scenic routes to finish at beautiful Lake Annand.

All proceeds from the event will be in aid of local charities – The Toowoomba Disaster Appeal, The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation (Children’s Appeal), The Toowoomba Hospice and The Cancer Council.

Entry fees for both the walk and run are $15 for individuals or $30 for a family (2 adults and children).  A race number will be issued upon receipt of payment.

Registration brochures are available in The Chronicle or at The Chronicle Peak 2 Park 2011 sign on booth at Grand Central Shopping Centre on this Saturday, or at Willows Health & Lifestyle Centre, 55-57 Kitchener Street, Toowoomba.  Registrations will be open for a short period before the event at Picnic Point.

Media representatives are invited to attend the event or visit the website at peak2park.org.au or contact the organising committee – Healthy Active Lifestyles Toowoomba (HALT) – secretary Susan Morgan (0412 716 979) for further details.
